PREZI - tutorial

Prezi is a virtual whiteboard that allows you to prepare very dynamic presentations. What is particular about PREZI is that it is visually attractive and ideas are not presented in a linear way but interconnected. It is user-friendly but you may find yourself devoting a lot of time to it!

You can include many multimedia resources within your presentations. You can have an account for free. Presentations may remain online or you can download them so as to deliver a presentation offline. You can also share your PREZI with other people and work collaboratively!
First of all Sign up!

You can log in with Linked In or with Facebook. Another possibility is that you log in with your e-mail.

Click on “NEW PREZI” to start your own presentation.

Now you need to choose your template. You may want to use one of the predetermined templates PREZI offers you (they’re very attractive and helpful) or you may decide to start from scratch with your own background (this option gives you the possibility to start any image you would like to insert)

After choosing your template, you can start editing your THEME and, if you want, you can change the background as well by pressing right button and selecting “change background”

You can start creating each “frame” or “circle”. You can edit the font of the title, subtitle and the body. You can create as many frames or circles as you need.
You have the possibility to edit the text in each space. You can choose between Title, subtitle or body. You can also change the colour and the size of the text.
In addition, you can include one element within another one and so go through a process of narrowing down the scope of your presentation.
In Prezi, it is possible to add videos, images, and other multimedia resources. What is more, you have on your right side a Google search engine so that you can look for images and insert them in your presentation.

Once you have finished with the creation of objects, you can fix the “path”, that is to say, the order in which the elements are going to appear.
On the left you have each slide (circle or frame) so that you can rearrange the order if you want.

Another advantage of Prezi is that it is connected with other social networks and thus, you can include videos form youtube, play background music and search images in the Google engine that then insert them in your presentation. You just have to click on “Insert” -> Youtube Video. Then you simply copy the link to the video in the gap and adjust the window of the video to your presentation.

Once you have finished with your Prezi Presentation, you can share it, download it or just keep it in your session to watch it online.

Here is my sample of Prezi: "Let's travel around Latin America"

Now you can try this activity!
